#1. Ice skating on the biggest open air ice rink of Central Europe is among the most popular winter activities in the city either for locals or tourists. In our city only Hungarian made products of good quality are allowed to sell on the Christmas markets, which makes them very special and attractive. Christmas markets are at several locations, the most popular ones on Vörösmarthy square and at Saint Stephen Basilica.
You can taste Hungarian specialities such as lángos (fried bread) which you can eat with sour cream and cheese and some garlic if you like – very filling and warms you up. Drinking mulled wine or punch (with or without alcohol) while you are walking around the wooden stalls gives some extra to the festive spirit.
